MCHS 2019 Annual Dinner Fund Raiser (Written for the Redford Connection May, 2019)

The MCHS 2019 Annual Dinner Fund raiser was held April 17, 2019. The magic of Methodist Children's Home Society had its humble beginnings around 1917 and has continued to fuel the facility with hope, expectations joy and laughter. The special appearance of renowned Michigan magician Anthony Grupido allowed this year’s vision, “making the impossible possible” a realty as hundreds of volunteers, advocates and supporters came together in support of the magical event.

The magical evening included nearly 350 attendees the keynote presentation by Anthony Grupido, and an award ceremony that recognized Mission Possible awardees. The Awardees included MCHS volunteer chess coach Matt Trujillo, foster/adoptive parents Beth & Eric Torrey, TruGreen general manager, MCHS donor Joe Griggs, and MCHS residential shift supervisor James Meadows. The Legacy award was presented to board member Murray Brown.

MCHS continues to service the community through programs, in partnership with a dedicated staff, volunteers, donors and community members, who are devoted to changing the lives of children and families who have experienced the trauma of child abuse and neglect.
